Election Commission, Ministers And Political Leaders Visit Sool

Las Anod, Somaliland, May 22, 2010 (SL Times) – Somaliland election commission went to voting cards distribution centers in Sool region in order check on how the process is going. According to Afnugaal.com, speaking to the press after the inspection tour, Farah Abib Adan, a member of the National Election Commission said the voter card distribution is proceeding very well and praised both the election commission and the community for doing a good job.
The Vice-chairman of Sool Election Commission Mohammed H. Farah Ali noted that there was a problem with nomadic people who have left the locations where they originally registered and that cut down the number of people who changed their cards. The Chairman of Sool Election Commission Abdillahi Mohamud Shire also took part in ensuring that the card distribution went smoothly.
Voting card distribution is also going in different parts of Buhodleh, such as Egaag, Horufadhi, and Yeyle. Various parts of Widhwidh including Qorfobuul, Ballihadhac & Dusmada have taken part in voting card distribution.
As reported by Afnugaal.com, in addition to the Election Commission, the Minister of Health Ahmed Ali Asowe, the Minister of State for Education Mohamud Garad Muhammad, the Minister of Community development Mr Muhammad Hagar Dirir and the heavy weight politician Ahmed Abdi Haabsade were all in Sool this week. They were met by the Governor of Sool Farah Askar Hussein. After that the Minister of Community development Mr Muhammad Hagar Dirir split from the minister and went to Hudun where he checked on the progress of the distribution of voting cards.
The ministers, politicians, and other government officials all encouraged the citizens to take their voting cards and to be vigilant about maintaining peace and security in Sool region.
