Sheikh Adan-Siiro Distributes Money To Needy Families

Hargeysa, Somaliland, July 3, 2010 (SL Times) – Sheikh Adan Haji Mohamud (Adan-Siiro) distributed $900 to some of the poorest families in Hargeysa. The donation of $1000 was sent through Sabah Ayngal by a group of Somalilanders in England. Speaking about how the idea of helping these families originated, Sheikh Adan-Siiro said when he saw how needy these families were, he contacted a group of Somalilanders led by Sabah Ayngal and asked them if they could help, and that group ended up sending the money for this worthy cause, then the most needy 30 families were selected for a donation of $30 each, and $100 was spent on the service.
The receiving families were happy they got the donations, and Sheik Adan Siiro thanked the Somalilanders in England who contributed to this noble cause.
These needy families are from the “Ayaxa 2” neighborhood and most of them were Somaliland returnees who had been refugees in Ethiopia.
Sheikh Adan Siiro is heavily involved in charitable work and in addition to helping the needy he also assists Somaliland’s universities and hospitals.
