Hargeysa, Somaliland, July 17, 2010 (SL Times) – In the wake of the Uganda bombings, Somaliland's newly elected President Ahmed called on Somaliland security forces to be extra vigilant in preventing similar attacks from taking place in Somaliland especially in this critical period of transition.
In addition, the new President urged Somaliland’s people to be alert and work together in maintaining their safety and well-being. The elected President also sent a message of condolences to the people and government of Uganda for the al-Shabaab sponsored terrorist attacks that resulted in the death of 74 people and the wounding of about 100 individuals.
