Southern Sudan Foreign Minister Welcomes Somaliland Delegation At Airport

Juba, South Sudan, July 9, 2011 (SL Times) – Somaliland’s delegation arrived in Southern Sudan’s capital, Juba. The Somaliland delegation was met at the airport by Sudan’s foreign minister.
A team of journalists, including the editor-in-chief of the Somaliland Times, Yusuf Gabobe, was part of the Somaliland delegation.
Later that evening, the President of South Sudan hosted the Somaliland delegation for dinner.
The owner of the airline African Express, Captain Muse Bulhan, had made available to President Ahmed Sillanyo, the airplane that flew him to the Southern Sudanese capital. Only airplanes that were taking part in the independence event were allowed to fly in South Sudan’s airspace, and President Ahmed Sillanyo’s plane was one of them, whereas all other commercial traffic was stopped until the independence ceremony was over.
