By Abdirahman Ibrahim Abdillahi Hego conference is about peace and development. The steering committee will determine the need for the summit and achievements to be accomplished within the period of the conference. There are many issues that need to be addressed following are the details of the some subjects expected to be included in to the program. Conflict can arise between tribes or groups within a community and the resolutions for the disputes do not end up with fair judgment. In contrast, conflict resolutions are different from the way conflicts were resolved in the yesteryears. The way Conflict resolutions are managed in these days are not fair. They do it because they give justice to whom they care. To bring the condition of justice back to normal. We need to have selected and appropriate committee during the convention to resolve the conflicts in the community in a fair manner. The selected committee will review whether justice is delivered or not. If justice is not delivered in this case then the conflict resolution committee will re evaluate the matter. The members of the said committee has to be selected on the basis of the prestige and the trust these people hold within the community in performing similar job in the past. Our community needs new settlements for many reasons thus methods and means has to be explored in obtaining new lands or settlements from wherever. Endeavors regarding the subject mater must be initiated either at individual levels or at community levels and in addition to the awareness regarding the benefits associated with acquiring land should be raised among the community members. One must keep up to date on the most dynamic and flourishing industries including to that of Education as it is to day one of the flourishing industry and you must keep in mind seize such opportunities. Therefore, it is the need of the hour to establish schools or university so as to benefit for the poor families who are unable to enroll their children to schools. Moreover, the community members to the conference should be encouraged to establish schools at all levels in Borama and the benefits of education in all aspects of life must be raised during the conference. We need to debate importance of having contacts with the neighboring tribes and consciousness among the tribes in this regard are raised and encouraged. The relations like this with an understanding of why they occur, have value in many aspects of life for example in commerce and politics and for that reason collaboration among and between the different tribes in this regard have to be strengthened. It is in the need of the hour to seek cooperation between the community heavy weights on the economy to make sure they start a thriving business as there are opportunities in education, electricity and first class hotels and much more since it has impact on the economy of the community at large. Tribal law on the tribal matters must be written by legal consultants and experienced tribal elders on the subject. It should be carefully drafted after consultations of different people who specialized on the matter. Hopefully it will take time beyond the stipulated time limit of the convention. No matter what it takes but the output of the conference must be useful. The tribal law (Xeer) will be approved and adapted and is subject to amendment and improvement at any time to come provided that all parties to the agreement are present on the occasion. The reason of many of our problems is feeble leadership who has no confidence among themselves in addition to are uneducated and are economically poor. Therefore; it is in the need of the hour to open a debate on the matter. I personally propose a next generation of leadership which is much more efficient than today’s leadership.
