Four Killed In Shoot Out At Somalia’s Presidency

Mogadishu, Somalia, July 23, 2011 (SL Times) – A shoot out took place between soldiers loyal to Somalia’s President Sheikh Sharif and soldiers loyal to the Speaker of Parliament, Sharif Hasan Sharif Adan.
According to eyewitness accounts, the shoot out happened at the entrance to Sheikh Sharif’s office in Mogadishu. Four people were killed in the exchange of fire, others were wounded.
Sheikh Sharif and Sharif Hasan are former allies who have recently turned against each other. The soldiers of the government of Somalia are ill-disciplined and shootings between them is a routine occurrence.
