Alawi Gabobe Sends Message Of Solidarity With The Syrian People, Says Massacres In Syria Similar To Barre’s Massacres In Somaliland

Hargeysa, Somaliland, August 6, 2011 (SL Times) – In a message to the London-based Arabic publication, al-Quds al-Arabi, the president of the national organization "Horseed", Alawi Abdi Gabobe, condemned the Syrian regime for what it is doing to the people of Syria, and to the people of Hama in particular. Mr Alawi Abdi Gabobe said that the massacres taking place in Hama (the fortress of resistance) remind us of the ugly massacres that took place in 1988 in Hargeysa (the fortress of freedom). He also stressed that the people of Syria will eventually triumph over their tormentors, the same way that the people of Somaliland triumphed over their oppressors.
The message of solidarity was written in the Arabic language, but Haatuf newspaper published a Somali version of it.
