Galgala Natives Anxious About Al-Shabaab And Aerial Bombing

Hargeysa, Somaliland, April 14, 2012 (SL Times) – Residents of the mountainous Galgala area of Sanag region have expressed strong fears of the reported arrival of al-Shabaab militants there and the possibility that it might lead to aerial bombardment by western war planes.
One of the elders of Sanag, Farah Omar, told Haatuf Newspaper how anxious they were about the unfolding scenario and the collateral damage it could inflict. Other residents of eastern Sanag confirmed to Haatuf Newspaper that planes which are thought to be Western planes that are pursuing al-Shabaab have been seen flying over Galgala.
Somalia's Prime Minister Abdiwelii Mohamed Ali said this week that al-Shabab fighters including their leaders had fled north to Galgala after being squeezed in the south.
