Somaliland Parliamentary Leaders Visit Namibia

Hargeysa, Somaliland, April 28, 2012 (SL Times) – The Speaker of Somaliland Parliament, Abdirahman Muhammad Abdillahi (Irro) accompanied by the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr Ali Yusuf Ahmed, went on a working visit to Namibia.
Among the Namibian officials they met were the speaker of the House, the foreign minister and parliamentary leaders. Somaliland’s delegation was expected to attend a session of the Namibian parliament to be addressed by Namibia’s president.
This the first time that Somaliland’s parliamentary leaders visit Namibia and the trek is part of Somaliland’s efforts to widen its diplomatic contacts and win friends in Africa.
