Italian Journalists In Somaliland

Hargeysa, Somaliland, June 2, 2012 (SL Times) – Two independent Italian journalists arrived in Hargeysa, Somaliland, this week.
The two journalists, Cesare Sangalli (a writer) and Fabrizio Bisogni (a photo journalist) talked with Haatuf reporter Ahmed Ige regarding their trip to Somaliland. They said the purpose of their visit was to find out more about the peace and democracy in Somaliland and expressed concern that the international community has not recognized Somaliland until now.
Cesare Sangalli who has worked in the media for 20 years, noted that he first read about Somaliland in the French magazine Jeune Afrique. He also explained that he had written many journalistic reports about the Sudan and used to advocate for South Sudan’s separation from North Sudan, consequently, he was very happy when South Sudan achieved its independence.
Likewise, he now supports Somaliland’s independence and will advocate for it.
