Somaliland Police Commissioner Takes A Trip To Las Anod

Las Anod, Somaliland, July 14, 2012 (SL Times) – Somaliland’s Police Commissioner, Abdillahi Fadal Iman, went on a visit to Las Anod this week.
He spoke with the media when he arrived there and said the main purpose of his visit was to get a close look at the security situation. He also remarked that he wanted get an idea of the situation of the police and how they go about their job. This is the first time that Abdillahi Fadal Iman visits Las Anod since he became police commissioner.
The on-and-off cycle of targeted bombings and assassinations has started again in Las Anod and this most probably prompted the police commissioner’s trip to that city. The latest such bombing in Las Anod was that of the house of the deputy head of the CID which resulted in the death of a member of the custodial corps. Before that, the deputy prosecutor of Sool region was killed in Las Anod.
