Mary Harper Participates In Hargeysa’s Book Fair

Hargeysa, Somaliland, July 21, 2012 (SL Times) – BBC editor and author Mary Harper participated in the Hargeysa Book Fair.

During her presentation, she discussed her book about Somalis. She spoke about what motivated her to write the book and how since she was a journalist, she had to write balanced accounts, and that her book is about both Somalia and Somaliland.
Mary Harper touched on Somalia’s status at the top of the failed state list, and how the country has become a by-word for corruption and passport forgeries.
